Doctor of Business Administration (DBA)
Applicable to foreign nationals intending to enter Mexico under the status of temporary resident student. All students, regardless of nationality, who plan to stay in Mexico for more than 180 days are required to obtain this visa.
Note: This includes students pursuing undergraduate, master’s, doctoral studies, or postdoctoral research stays.
Requirements:
Present a valid passport or identity and travel document.
One photograph.
Be a national of the country where the visa is being applied for or prove legal residency.
Present documents proving the following:
a) Enrollment in Studies: Provide a letter of acceptance from an institution within Mexico’s National Education System, including full details of the applicant, institution, and course of study.
b) Financial Solvency: You must demonstrate the financial ability to cover living expenses and tuition. Financial solvency can be proven by the applicant, their parents, or legal guardians (provided they are under 25 years old), or through a letter from the educational institution certifying that the applicant has been granted a scholarship.
Financial requirements can be met through:
i. Proof of Employment, Pension, or Scholarship: Provide original and copies of documents showing monthly income, free of any liens, greater than the equivalent of 100 days of the minimum wage in Mexico City, for the last three months.
ii. Bank or Investment Statements: Provide original and copies of documents showing bank or investment accounts with a monthly average balance equivalent to 1,000 days of the minimum wage in Mexico City, for the last three months.
c) Family Accompaniment: If foreign nationals are traveling with their families, they must prove their relationship with the applicants and demonstrate financial solvency to support family members. Family members will be issued a temporary residence visa and not a temporary resident student visa.
i. Additional Bank or Investment Statements: Provide documents showing a monthly average balance equivalent to 100 days of the minimum wage in Mexico City for the last 12 months.
ii. Proof of Additional Income: Provide documents showing employment, pension, or scholarship with monthly additional income equivalent to or greater than 100 days of the minimum wage in Mexico City for the last six months.
d) Mobility Programs: If applicable, proof of enrollment in an international mobility program for the movement of persons under a legal framework.
Pay the applicable fees in the form and amount indicated by the Federal Rights Law.
Note: The temporary resident student card, which verifies legal status and permits the student to remain in Mexico, must be obtained within 30 natural days from the date of entry into Mexican territory.
For the university, educational documents such as certificates or diplomas must be translated into English or Spanish. If the documents are in English, they must be translated by an official expert in Mexico. Birth certificates must be legalized or apostilled and also translated.
